Shamira Rahim, BSc, DC, ART Certified In her academic history, Dr. Shamira Rahim has achieved a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia, a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, and Active Release Techniques® (ART) certification. She is currently working on a post graduate diploma in chiropractic rehabilitation. To support her credentials, Dr. Rahim is certified by the chiropractic national examining boards of Canada and the United States, and is a member of the British Columbia Chiropractic Association, British Columbia College of Chiropractic, Canadian Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and the Society of Weight-Training Specialists. It is Dr. Rahim’s belief that long-term wellness is about prevention, and that with the right tools and support, patients can create a sustainable state of health for themselves. Her approach is to work closely with patients to ensure she fully understands their needs then develop a healing plan that begins with treating immediate symptoms. This plan is fully supported by education about the condition and options for creating long-term health and a balanced lifestyle. In addition to working at evolve Nurturing Vitality, Dr. Rahim has volunteered at a number of sporting events including but not limited to Ironman Triatholon Races, Nike World Master Games, Hood to Coast Race and The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.

Alison Coolican, BSc, RMT After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996, Alison chose to further pursue her interest in anatomy by attending the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, BC. She earned her diploma and became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2005. During this time, she was honoured with the Joe Koscak Memorial Award from her graduating class. This annual award is presented to the student who demonstrates integrity, perseverance, a passionate heart and caring soul, and these are all qualities that Alison brings to her practice. She believes that massage therapy is a patient-focused and effective method to help patients achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Using hands-on techniques as well as therapeutic exercise, Alison assists patients who are working toward achieving their maximal functional potential. Treatment protocols involve symptomatic relief and maintenance therapy. Alison’s clinical experience involves working with patients with a variety of systemic, orthopaedic, neurological and stress-related conditions. She regularly volunteers to treat athletes before and after running, triathlon and other sporting events. Some of these events include Ironman Canada, the Vancouver International Marathon, the Sun Run and the Nike Runner’s Lounge. In her spare time, Alison enjoys the challenges and benefits of training for triathlons.

Jeda Boughton, BA, RAc, DrTCM Dr. Jeda Boughton’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts from the University College of the Fraser Valley, and a Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver (ICTCMV). She is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Registered Herbologist, and a Registered Acupuncturist, having studied at the Anhui Acupuncture Hospital in Hefei, China as part of the ICTCMV program. Dr. Boughton works with patients to improve the body’s internal functions and restore a natural balance of health. She believes in a preventative approach to health and vitality, and works with patients to assess how Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture can help strengthen their bodies for continuing wellness and in speeding the healing process when there is ill health.
